The future of our libraries is still uncertain. Direct government funding to local councils will cease in 2019 when they will become reliant on Council Tax and Business rates. Agenda item 5 is intended to be some input of information and then discussion on the way forward. We need to start planning now for whatever cutbacks may be made from 2019 onwards.
